We have a track record of working in live occupied settings, using our expertise and skill to ensure completion with minimum disruption, while paying close attention to health, safety and environmental requirements.

We’ve worked with clients to deliver everything from turnkey purpose built student accommodation and complete room conversions; to enhancing the student experience with new cinema rooms and wellbeing centres.

No matter the challenge, we have the know-how, experience, and adaptability to complete any project successfully. Student Court Yard

Client: Chapter - Kings Cross

Work Completed: Uplift student courtyard

Project challenge: With an extremely short timescale, our client asked us to renovate their existing courtyard space at their student housing in Kings Cross.  

Solution: Utilising our supplier network to source the required materials at short notice, we mobilised our team to create the courtyard and BBQ space in line with the client’s design. With an in-house team of tradespeople covering all aspects of construction, we were able to bring in additional support to complete the project within the tight deadline.

Result: The newly designed outside space was completed before the new intake of students arrived so they could fully utilise and enjoy it.

Student Accommodation

Work Completed: Design & Build 56 Single Occupancy rooms from 28 Double Rooms

Project challenge: To convert a number of university twin student rooms into single occupancy spaces during the summer holiday period. With the rooms already rented to incoming students, working within a strict deadline was paramount.

Solution:  Our large in-house construction team was crucial to enabling the works to happen simultaneously. The team worked closely with Greystar’s on-site operations throughout the project so they could arrange full access as required and adapt easily to any challenges that arose.

We brought in our demo and construction teams, electricians, plumbers and decorators to complete the project well within the  9-week deadline. The original twin rooms were reconstructed with a new acoustic, fire-rated wall installed to separate the space into two single dwellings. High quality shower room, kitchen, wardrobe and bed areas were then created in each room before the decoration was completed. 

Result: Within the 9-week period, the 28 twin flats were successfully converted into 56 single occupancy rooms ready for their new residents at the start of the academic term.
